Shelly integration (4PM and manually add via IP)

Hi,

First of all i’m very happy with the Shelly integration, so keep up the good work!

I’m currently testing v3.70~54 and just want to give some feedback about the Shelly integration.

Shelly 4PM:

The Shelly 4PM has 4 relay’s, when you change the name. All 4 relays are changed to the new name. Is it possible to control this individually ?

Beside of that it would be great if you can also select a PV inverter beside of the AC loads role. In my example i have a Microinverter of AP systems connected on one of the relays.

Add a Shelly device manually

I can assume the auto discovery works in most cases, but if the Cerbo device is in another VLAN you have to configure multicast routing to make the autodiscovery to function. It would be nice if you can add a Shelly device manually via IP.

Hi @twanvbalen

Good to see you’re enthusiastic about the Shelly integration!
Hopefully I can address your questions:

The Shelly 4PM has 4 relay’s, when you change the name. All 4 relays are changed to the new name. Is it possible to control this individually ?

Yes, this is possible. Shelly devices can have a custom name, and the shelly channels can also have a custom name. The shelly device name is tied to the service custom name, and the shelly channel name is tied to the switch custom name. So you can change the channel name either on the GX here:

Or on the shelly interface:

This name is specific to the channel and will show up in the switch pane.

Beside of that it would be great if you can also select a PV inverter beside of the AC loads role. In my example i have a Microinverter of AP systems connected on one of the relays.

Currently, we only allow the ‘acload’ role on switching devices which have energy metering capabilities. The pvinverter role is available for devices which only do energy metering. I’ll see if we can allow this role for switching devices with energy metering capabilities as well.

Add a Shelly device manually

This is actually recently developed and will be available in a beta version soon.

Hi @rzee,

can you explain wich Shelly Device Generations are compatible with the Venus OS beta.

And is it planed to integrate older Generations in future?

Hi @ebinator

We support Shelly devices of Gen 2 and higher. Gen 1 devices will not be supported.

Regards,
Rein
