Running Node Red on RPi5 on a local net and trying to use Victron VE.BUS SYSTEM CONTROL node

I am using a Cerbo Gx running software v3.60. I am running Node Red on a Raspberry Pi 5 on the same local network as the Cerbo Gx.

I wrote several flows to monitor my system using Modbus Getter nodes which have worked but they do load up the Cerbo Gx. It was recommended that I look at using MQTT.

I was able to configure the mqtt in and mqtt out nodes. I am trying to use the Victron ve.bus.system control nodes I have read that this node would work with mqtt. When I drag the node onto a flow and try to configure it, the the VE.BUS SYSTEM and MEASUREMENT tabs are greyed out and will not accept any values. The node cannot be configured.

So I guess my fundamental question is why can’t I configure the node? In doing some research I came across a suggestion to enable “insecure D-Bus over TCP.” I have not be able to find that setting. I am not running Node Red on the Cerbo because the Cerbo began having a consistent problem with multiple reboots per hour. When I removed the large image the Cerbo seemed to be much happier. I mention this because I wonder if the VE.BUS SYTEM node is not able to see the Cerbo because the version of Node Red in not running within the Venus software on the Cerbo. The standard mqtt node can see the Cerbo from the RPi5, so I assume that mqttt across a local network is working.

try to set the watchdog trigger values higher - this solved all my problems with reboots
