@dfaber : I have read your DESS manual and some older community entries, but I still can only guess the underlying algorithms that make DESS work.
I know there is an older Node-Red implementation of DESS, but extracting the algorithms from this (or even from the newer source code in git) seems to be a tedious task.
Furthermore, I would like to learn, how other settings in the system (like e.g. setting ESS to “Optimized with or without BatteryLife” or to “External”, or other ESS settings like “Maximum Inverter Power” or “Grid Setpoint”) affect DESS operations.
I believe it would be for the benefit of the whole community, if you could give a more detailled description of the algorithms and of the “side effects” of other systems settings regarding DESS in the form of something like a “Technical Reference Manual” that can be searched up in one place.
