Is it unusual or normal to see peak power far above what the solar panel is rated for? Today I saw a peak of 944 watts from four 200W Renogy RSP200D panels hooked up in series to a Victron 150/100 on a partly cloudy day via the solar controller history and a peak of 883 watts via the Solar Charger PV yield. Is this just some kind of a calibration anomaly?

It’s totally normal when they are cooled by the clouds. It’s called the cloud edge effect and acts like a magnifying glass, increasing irradiance. This, combined with a cooler panel, increases output for a few seconds.

Makes perfect sense, Thank you!
