Hi all,

Hi all,

What UI? Can you send screenshots?
Are you using an attached display?
It’s attached to a debian machine running the remote console 24/7 in a firefox browser tab
Which remote console - old UI or the new one?
Do you have any other devices to confirm that those are either the same or different.
Nodered is just a conventional webservice, it cannot choose to render poorly, only the browser can do that.
I don’t know about the UI version but it looks the same as ever so i assume the old UI.
Bizarrely, I opened it on the laptop in front of me now and it didn’t close the one on the wall (the debian machine) which it has always done before.
It’s grainy on the laptop as well.
The Node-red thing, I would imagine it’s because the editor is “rendered” from the cerbo as well.
The old UI is not maintained any longer, try connect to the new UI:
https://venus.local/gui-v2/
Nodered isn’t rendered on the GX, that purely serves the markup, the old UI however is streamed over VNC, so that is different. The new one runs locally and allows as many connections as you like.
Ah, well that’s a shame. GUI 2 is no use to me, it can’t be seen as clearly from a distance. It also doesn’t enlarge with a two-fingered gesture on the touchscreen. Perhaps that’s browset thing although it always could be enlarged with the old UI. I will have to roll back the update - I hope that’s possible.
The new UI has a ?fullscreen flag precisely for this reason. and You just have to force light mode, then it should be as visible.
No new features are going into the older interface.
Other options:
default
noframe
frame
Certainly on firefox etc I can zoom it as well.
It’s on light mode already I think but the figures are fainter than the old colourful version, or less visible because of the chnage in colour contrast. Honestly, I don’t want new features, I just want a simple thing that doesn’t require me to approach it or interact with it to see exactly how things are. We have the VRM for more details.
Until yesterday, a two-finger expansion gesture and i could make it fill the window so that the figures were close to the edges, even chopping off the labels of the ACloads etc. boxes, and then I could see the important bits from the kitchen table or just walking into the room. This ui doesn’t really zoom - the little battery symbol and some other elements change size but the figures don’t change size at all on my screen even at 500% zoom
Best boot from the old backup firmware then.
Or do you think I can edit the firmware to bring back the image quality of the old remote console ? To get rid of this grainy, ghostliness ?
No. If the grain issue is unique to debian I would start there, but if it’s everywhere not much that can be done yourself. Not something I’ve seen reported before.
Grainy also on windows/opera browser. I think I will roll back a bit otherwise my screen’s usefulness is much reduced. I wonder which OS version is the newest that still supports a “colour control”-style remote console overview - any thoughts ?
Hang on, I notice they are still selling the Color Control with the screen populated by the old UI page, does this mean there is a way after all to display the old UI in a good quality way ?
The UI should be fine, why you are having an issue is beyond me.
CCGX is discontinued, version locked to 3.55 as the hardware does not support the later versions without having resource issues.
It is grainy on mine as well, I never use it though.
It is my go-to thing, well it’s just on all the time, a quick glance at that screen and you know how things are. And by switching tabs I can access node-red, car charger and whatever else I need.
Apparently, well according to AI, the old framework and rendering system went out with 3.50 so battery management improvements probably not fully advanced at that point.
Sounds like this is an “improvement” from 3.5x.
Install is also running GUI v1 mods there.
