Remote Console does not work in Venus OS 3.5

I cannot access remote console from the VRM for a site recently upgraded to Venus OS 3.5. I have reverted back to V3.41 but pressing the Remote Console button on the VRM does nothing. I have enabled 2-way comms and VRM settings again.

Anyone know what is going on?

same problem on a friends Rpi system

I noticed another site running a CCGX also upgraded to v3.5 and that works. Problem seems to be with Cerbo GX device.

Sometimes a reboot works after the initial update.
Had the same on one of my systems

I have rebooted several times. Also taken power off the cerbo GX and waited 30s then repowered.

I noticed when I upgraded from 3.41 to 3.5 the touch screen display was frozen. I had to remove power from the cerbo GX and then repower it to start it up.

We need some more information:
First step:
Does GUI-v1/v2 work local? Just type in your ip address of you Cerbo/Pi in a browser
http://192.168.x.xxx/gui-v1 or http://192.168.x.xxx/gui-v2

So I have reverted back to V3.5. If I type in the IP/gui-v1/ this works but IP/gui-v2/ does not. Sits there saying:

Does gui-v1 work via vrm using remote control and than option “Classic UI”?

So I think I am making some progress. I set my UI to v1 under settings in OS 3.5:

This allows me to gain access to the site via VRM if I choose v1 UI. If I choose v2 this does not work.

However with v1, it works:

I see the CCGX defaults to v1 UI under OS 3.5 as it cannot natively do v2 UI. However I can chose UI v2 on the remote console via the VRM and that works.

I’m having similar issues. I used to use the Fully Kiosk app to display the remote console (gui-v1) in kiosk mode on a tablet running Android 9. Fully Kiosk will not load the page if I use the url for gui-v2. I’ve tried everything and every combination of settings without luck

I can load the gui-v2 on a browser page using Firefox or Chrome on my Windows 11 laptop (didn’t try Edge) and it loads fine. I have three Android devices running Android 6, 9 and 10 and none of them will load the gui-v2 page in any browser. None!

I have tried to connect the Android devices through a mobile hotspot to rule out my pfSense firewall, but that doesn’t work either.

No combination of the Display settings in the Cerbo makes any difference, I still can’t connect to gui-V2 with any Android device or with Fully Kiosk. Does anyone know what this webpage is rendered with and whether there may be some use of coding that my Android devices simply cannot deal with?

I have also tried the beta version of the kiosk app here but I cannot get it to work on any of my devices.

I have reverted to using gui-v1 on my remote console so I can at least get Fully Kiosk working again… This 3.5 release is proving to be a dismal failure from my perspective.

Edit: My problem has been resolved. Victron staff have updated the app that enables tablets to be used as kiosk displays and it works well.

Pi does not currently support the new UI on a dedicated screen due to issues with hardware acceleration, there is a dedicated topic on this in the modifications section.
