Victron MultiPlus II 48/5000 or 48/4k5 for off-grid use fitted in living quarters
Is there a substantial noise and/or power difference between the 2 models?
Are the alloy components something to worry about in the 4K5?
Which unit would you recommend?

No, they are probably equally as loud. Havent heard a 48/5000 yet, but i have a 48/4k5 myself and installed a 48/3000 some time ago.
Power wise the main difference is that the MP2 48/5000 is rated at 5kVA/4kW and the 48/4k5 is rated at 4.5kW (under some time constraints)
Alloy components?
None, at least not for mounting in a living area. In a garage or cellar, yes. The 4k5 is newer, but it still uses the same transformer architecture as the other MPs do. The rating is a bit different but i dont think it makes much of a difference
