Hello everyone,
I have a question regarding the conformity of solar modules, especially Victron modules, in connection with legal regulations such as ECE R10 (motor vehicles).
I am currently installing a new Victron system in my campervan and replacing the entire electrical system. It is important to me that the entire system is legally compliant in order to avoid potential problems with registration or insurance.
This has worked well for most of the components. However, I still have some unanswered questions regarding the solar module. I am planning to use a solar module from Victron, but could not find an ECE R10 declaration of conformity. I have also not found any solar modules with a corresponding approval from other manufacturers or on various websites.
Hence my question: Is anyone familiar with this topic? Is it correct that solar modules do not require their own ECE R10 approval as they are considered passive components and are connected via an MPPT controller, which in turn has ECE R10 approval?
I look forward to any helpful answers and thank you in advance for your support!
Thx
Sven
