Need some help

You can’t run the unit without batteries

It’s not possible to use the Quattro as a pass through in any form?

With the 240v power from a generator the Quattro is doing well. Also with no batteries connected.

It is unsupported because it will be damaging the device and shortening its life.
Those units have never supported use without a battery.
Fit a bypass switch rather.

The Quattro has a large bank of the capacitors on the DC input, when you try to run it on ac the ac tries to charge these capacitors with a huge inrush current many times higher than the unit is rated for.

Thanks for the info.

@nick Just a bypass switch just a connection between in and out? No other safety equipment?

Have a look in Section 6.6 of Victrons Wiring Unlimited. The bypass switch needs to be a dual changeover switch.
