One month ago I become an owner the best hybrid solar system in the world Victron energy (that what I heared before purchase and instalation).
What I have:
Victron Quattro 48/10000
Cerbo Gx
Gx touch 50
MPPT 250/100 VE.Can
PylontechU S 5000 - 3pcs
I choose quattro 'cause it has 2 independent inputs and you can use both of them together and limited current as you wish.
The first input preferable the 2nd as auxiliary.
My first input - grid
Second - invertor gas generator 4.5kW ( input current limit 14 A)
What is my problem? While grid off and I start my generator and the quattro switch ON the second line, my generator falls with fault. It become only when quattro starting charging the battery. ( we tried disconnect cerbo gx and everething works good). But I cant use system without external control.
Actually, according to the situation with grid in our region, I need find solution how connect gas generator to this system.
A couple of things. There is a generator FAQ that has good tips for configuring the generator input so the genset isn’t overloaded too quickly and to help the system accept it.
Also, the inputs cannot both be active - only one at a time and one (AC1, usually used for a genset) has preference over the other. This is also documented in the manual.
My instalator check this list but havent got any stable results… when we used more powerful genset 8kVa mostly inverter dont want to connect it to the system. But when connect it only for a while because frequency was about 54Hz…
Yip. And the DC cabling to the inverter looks insufficient for the battery and inverter.
Whoever is installing this needs some help and to do some reading/training.
Without additional details showing the config, and not following the FAQ, it isn’t going to work properly.
What do you mean ? I can share more information about my system.
If disregard the problem with genset connection, we use this system about 2 month and everething looks ok. Charging/inverting by ess optimised with battery life.
