Proper 4/0 lugs for Lynx distributor

Awaiting delivery of a M8 Lynx distributor that will be part of an RV electrical system upgrade. I am seeing online posts about difficulties getting 4/0 lugs to fit appropriately on the Lynx distributor posts, either hitting the Lynx plastic or butting against the megafuses. Or the lug holes not fitting the post. I have been using hefty FTZ power lugs for battery/inverter wiring but not sure if these will fit the Lynx.

Are there brands of 4/0 lugs that folks here have used successfully? Would rather not modify the Lynx (warranty). Not opposed to grinding the end of the lug a bit to keep it away from the fuse.

In the USA, check out Selterm tin plated copper lugs and trim off the end and/or use AMG fuses with the curved plastic instead of the straight. The 80V versions of the MEGA/AMG fuses tend to have the curved plastic center bodies.

I found the Selterm plugs on Amazon. They list two varieties - an XL M8 5/16 and a regular M8. This sounds like the two varieties of the FTZ - the HD “power lugs” and the regular, bt still substantial lugs.

Which would you recommend?
Thnx

You can also buy directly from Selterm, but Amazon is easier for smaller quantities. The XL version has a larger pad. It is slightly wider and longer for more contact. If you get the XL version you will end up grinding more off.

The better approach is to avoid using 4/0 cables if possible. For example, if you have a 12v 3kVA inverter, run two 2/0 positive cables with two fuses in the Lynx Distributor and two 2/0 negative cables. The cross-sectional area of two 2/0 cables is also larger (higher current carrying capability and less DC ripple) than a single 4/0 cable. That said, we periodically use 250MCM lugs for battery banks connected to a Lynx PowerIn, but we prefer going to higher DC voltages to avoid the very large cable sizes. I hope this helps.
