Prioritizing MPPT inputs over Phoenix Charger via voltage differential?

Hello, I would like to configure my Victron system to use solar power for DC loads when the sun is out and the batteries are already at storage voltage. I see that the Multiplus already has this kind of feature built in, but alas, I have a Phoenix Charger. So I am wondering if I can set the MPPT to a higher storage voltage to get a similar effect.

For example, I could have shore=13.49V/mppt=13.5V (+.01V), or shore=13.50/mppt=13.51 (+.01V, slightly over storage voltage spec)?

I have:

  • 4x200A 12V Victron Smart Lithium batteries,
  • a Victron Phoenix Charger,
  • 3x Victron MMPTs,
  • a Lynx BMS.

Is this a valid idea? If yes, how much of a voltage delta is needed to have the desired effect? Is the storage voltage a strict limit or is there any tolerance around it?

Thanks!

With different gear it’s what I’ve done for years
MPPT 13.5
Charger 13.49
It may need more but you should see that easily.
