Hi, i have what should be a fairly simple van setup. Using an Orion XS 12-12 50 to charge my house batteries (2x Renogy LiFePo in parallel).
I have a BMV 712 smart shunt on those house batteries also… reading right around 13.07v and 87% state of charge.
Orion XS setup as a charger, and the engine running detection features appear to be working… it indicates it is in BULK charge mode.
It shows Input and output voltage to be around 14.2v…. But NO current or power…. Ever
The orion shows absorption state in the app. So it is Constant Voltage (absorption / target voltage) not Constant Current (bulk)
The output voltage of 14.2vdc so it doesn’t (detect that) need to charge in bulk.
But your shunt shows 13.4vdc. so there is a major volt drop between the two. You don’t show fusing so it cant be that? maybe wire gauge is too small for the length of run or your chassis / negative is not great.
Why not wire the negative connection on the Orion XS direct to the negative bus bar on the system side of the BMV shunt, t hen the negative will have better continuity with the starter and domestic batteries. Unless your drawing is meant to show this where the wires cross, if so then you should have a dot there to show a connection.
