I am using a 12v 40ah dual purpose lithium battery with 500 CCA to start a 60 hp Mercury outboard. The motor starts fine when hooked up directly to the battery with no codes. When I hook up the Orion isolated DC/DC charger the engine does not start and throws codes. The charger is set to the lithium setting on the Victron app. Does anyone have any suggestions on what the problem might be and or a solution? I appreciate it.
Is the Orion used to start the engine, or is the engine connected to the battery?
sounds like the Orion is not needed.
A starter battery needs to be connected directly to the motor, NOT through a dc/dc converter.
More information on haw you are trying to use the Orion would help…
