New Phoenix 12/50 Charger: failure light

I’m in Spain working on my boat- installing a new Phoenix shore power charger (bought in Seattle). I’ve just replaced an old 12/40 charger with new Phoenix 12/50 charger (it’s not a “Smart” charger). I’m charging a battery bank: 6 12V AGM 110ah batteries. They are good batteries (charging well on solar), and I’ve got 60A fuse between charger and bus bar. Everything appears to be correctly connected. Ambient temp is 70°F.

When charger is turned on it immediately gives “failure” light and won’t charge. Troubleshooting in manual says either ambient temp too high, or “the output fuses are defective”. I can’t immediately return it to Victron. Any ideas appreciated.

Do you have an exact model/type?

Phoenix is/was the name of the victron inverter line, skylla and centaur are/were the charger lines.

Its a Victron Phoenix 12/50 (2+1) Charger.

Today i learned that theres a Phoenix charger. WTF victron, wheres the logic in naming products?

Anyway, did you check the output fuses of the unit?
