I have a brand new 12V Blue Smart charger 25A IP65 P/N BPC122531014, Samsung S23 Ultra that’s up to date and have just downloaded a fresh install of Victron connect. However the unit will not show as a device to connect to from the app. What can I do to troubleshoot this that is not already listed on the troubleshooting page? I want to pair the charger for the first time and see what the app itself can do for monitoring the battery status.
Have you read the troubleshooting tips in the VC manual which covers most scenarios (often Android permissions)?

Yes I have, that’s why I stated “not already listed on the troubleshooting page”…
Ok, you’ll be surprised how many don’t read down to section 2 and the Android specific issues…
Yeah I bet. Most of that is past the point of seeing the device and trying to connect it. In my case there are no devices found to even try connect to. That’s with the phone 20cm from the charger. I have tried it with the charger in all 5 modes with the light either solid OR flashing, and the battery connected or disconnected in all of the above scenario’s.
Do you have any other devices to test with?
Unfortunately not.
Common issue is to deny “access to Location/ Positioning”.
Even if one would assume that only affects the GPS Usage, no, it affects Bluetooth and Wifi usage as well, as these services can be used for Geolocating as well.
Chance you can ask a friend / family member to try on their phone, so you can at least figure out if the phone (settings) is the issue, or the charger?
Hi,
Is the charger visible in the Android Bluetooth menu?
And what is the serial number of the charger?
Kind regards,
Thiemo van Engelen
No, it’s not visible at all from the app or the phone’s Bluetooth menu. I have now taken it back for a refund as I believe it was faulty. I found someone who could install victron connect and they couldn’t see it either, as was the same for the store salesman. I’ll buy another soon and will try connecting before paying for it.
Thanks to everyone for the help and suggestions.
