This morning VRM showed me 1kW consumption at around 6am. Nothing is connected that could possibly use that. The advanced tab does not show anything like that. How can I trouble shoot this?
The system is not grid connected. The sun was not up. DC load is usually about 6W, AC load about 7W.
Ekrano GX. Multiplus 1200 12 50. No grid connection (no AC In). MPPT 100 30. SmartShunt 500A monitoring 2x100Ah Volthium LiFePO4 in parallel, connected CAN Bus BMS 500 LV.
Everything on the Advanced is showing normal, no big spike in consumption that I can see.
This happens on my system every once in a while at random times. In my case all 16A across all three phases are being sent to the Grid from the battery. it only lasts about 45-60 seconds, before all returns to normal. I’ve never figured it out. I wonder if it is some PylonTech battery equalization algorithm running; where it needs to dump a lot of energy from the battery in a short time.
Look at your advanced graphs in VRM and see if you can determine if the energy is going to the grid instead of some appliance in your house.
Hi @ZsSolar95 - that’s interesting. The battery voltage and current do not match the consumption. And the error is almost always exactly 1.0kWh, although sometimes it is 1.0 + whatever the MPPT is outputting eg if 0.04 from solar, then it will be 1.04.
1000Wh should show up as a decrease in battery SOC.
In this example, there is a false value at 16:30. The battery voltage does not drop. Later at around 17:15, I turned on a 800W load (a Shop Vac) for several minutes. The battery voltage drops as expected.
There are two problems (a) false consumption, and (b) the real consumption calculation is probably wrong - that 800W was not on for an hour, more like 15minutes, so that should be 0.2kWh consumption, not 1kWh.
