My home installation

Hi all,

Here is my home installation excisting of:
3x MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-48 (one per phase)
MPPT RS 450/100
MPPT 25/60
DC system (measured with smart shunt)
8 micro-inverters (enphase) connected to AC1 out

The complete house is connected to AC1 out

The battery banks are home made with EVE 304Ah cells, Gobelpower BMS and Heltec active ballancer. 2 out of 3 banks are already installed. The 3rd one is comming soon.

Kind regards,

David

Nicely done … :+1:
But I didn’t realise that Victron also has 3-stage filters and pressure tanks

I’m not good in fotoshop

Welcome in the forums! Niiice first post!!!

Awesomely clean and tidy nice! Nice and Impressive batteries gear for home-made devices!

Couple of suggestions:

  • Make sure to have high cutting current fuses for your batteries corresponding to the indications of the battery manufacturer, the maxifuses in the Victron busbar are insuffisant with only 1 kA cutting power, which btw doesn’t make sense for a 1 kA rated busbar (i reported this security issue at least 3 times to Victron, unfortunately without reply yet).
  • Make sure the plywood fire-resistance corresponds to your local electrical and fire regulations.
  • Maybe check that your regulations allow to mix battery DC, solar DC and AC cables in the same channels before going through electrical inspection.

Hi David,

since you have relatively few micro inverters, what other enphase infrastructure did you / did you have to install?

  • Enphase Gateway? If not, how do you know whether all of the micro inverters are actually working?
  • If yes? Is the gateway working without production/consumption current transformers?

Best Regards
Paul

Hi Paul,

The gateway is in theory not necessary. But it helps you indeed to monitor the different micro-inverters.

Yes the gateway works perfectly fine without the transformers. There is the “standard” gateway without the measurement option ( a little less expensive). The one with measurement is called “metered”

Kind regards,

David

Thanks David,
that helps a lot. I really Like the 3-phase installation cable from enphase. I am constantly switching in mind between enphase and Hoymiles.

You’re welcome. Beside of Victron I do also Enphase installations and the combination of both. Never had big issues with both of them… I have no experience with hoymiles.
