Multiplus is not charging from Shore Power

I have a 24v 3000W Multiplus System with 3 * 24v 150 AMP hour Canbat Lipo batteries in parellel. I have a BMV-712 set up to monitor, and my system is configured in my Cerbro GX to use this as the battery monitor.

My charger will not charge the batteries. The generator power only goes to the AV Load. If I switch to ‘Charge Only’, it does not charge at all (draws 1 W from the generator)

My batteries at warm (I have heating pads). Internal temp is 11C. So I don’t think its temperature related.

When I hook up a Victron Battery Charger and plug this into the generator, it successfully charges. But I can’t get the Multiplus to charge them.

VEConfig Settings

Charger Settings

Virtual Switch

I have tried lots of different settings. This has worked in the past, assuming it must be something going on with the BMS of the batteries. Looking for ideas here.

Thanks,

Luke

Have you disabled UPS function? Checked AC voltage and frequency in range?
Also try the ‘weak AC’ option.
After that, do try loading the generator with a resistive load

Here is the Grid options showing the Wide Frequency Range acceptance and UPS not enabled.

The generator ran out of gas. Once I get it topped up I will try ‘weak AC’ and loading the generator. I will try running a heater from it.

Weak AC enabled did not help. I’m running a heater off the generator, its a small one, but providing a load for sure. The inverter is still only drawing exactly what the AC load is on the system with nothing going to the batteries, even though they are in the ‘Bulk’ voltage setting (the Multiplus to showing Float state for some reason). I now have a Victron charger running off the generator charging the batteries. So at least they are getting charged. But this is pretty annoying. My wiring is set up for the Multiplus to do the charging when I start the generator.

Repeated Abs time and interval settings are wrong!!so is Abs time.
Repeated Abs time should be 2 hr, repeated abs interval should be 7 days, and abs time should be 6 hours.
Try resetting those, and see if that makes any difference. Otherwise, reset charger to a default LiFePO4 type, and then only adjust the ABS and Float voltages to match.

Those were the values the battery manufacture told me to use. But I tried what you said and switched to the LiFePO4 defaults. I even turned the inverter and Cerbro off and on. The generator power is still just matching the AC output, nothing going to batteries. I should mention, when there is sun everything charges great. We have just been buried in snow for weeks with minimal sun and snow over everything every day.

Thanks for the suggestions MikeD.

Interesting. Now its working as expected:

All the settings are the same as last night’s attempt. The only difference I can see now is most of the morning I was getting some solar charge. Now as the generator is running and there is still solar charge going to the batteries. Could this be putting the BMS of the battery in a different state?

Another thing, the battery percentage is blank because I restarted the system, but the batteries are about 20% now (they were 9% last night when this was not working). Maybe this is a factor? Could the BMS be doing things when the battery is a lower charge that might make the Multiplus get confused over the state?
