I went to put the multiplus II in [ON] mode which as I had it setup allows it to charge (had a cloudy day) But when I set it to on it came up in Pass-thru. I am trying to set it back to charging but not sure how to do so. I am remote from the system so not sure if I have to go physically to the site. Right now pass-thru is carrying the AC load and I only have about 100 W of dc load right now. But I would like to get the system back to using the grid power when set to [ON].
I am not sure HOW it get into that state, we have had so much sun that I have not needed it for several weeks. Just went to top up the batteries after a dark day and found it in that state.
I am using a mppt 250/100 for solar power a smart shunt for battery and a smart shunt for the DC load. The charge current is set on the Multi-plus II to 15 amps, Here is a view of the system the interface for the Mullti-Plus II is the Interface MK3 USB-C.
It request an ESS assistant, I do not have one installed. But I have been using it now for almost 6 months with no issue, had a long run of good winter sun so did not need to trigger the charge function of the Multi-Plus II, so when I did I was met with pass-thru rather than charge. I am not sure how it got changed.
OK, I tried all I could find so there was one thing left, the physical switch. I switched it off [O] then to [=] Charger only then back to [-] On. All is good. So something got off in the weeds but not sure where.
Folks I had this happen again this a.m. We have had a longer period of clouds so I went to enable to the Charger mode. After doing so I see it is set to Pass-Thru. I did not set it so. My question is why is it going to Pass-thru with out my putting it there. Now I have to go out to the shop and cycle the switch on the device. This is very irritating.
