Multiplus II GX + CAN Battery + AC and DC solar charging + EVCS / Smartshunt YES or NO?

Hello,

I have the below system with the Multiplus GX correctly communicating to my Dyness Battery over CAN Bus.

I do NOT have a smartshunt connected to the battery as I assumed the BMS from the battery communicates total load correctly over the CAN protocol to my Multiplus GX who displays it on the monitoring.

Can somebody confirm to me this is a correct assumption? (If I look at the below numbers I am missing +_ 50W but to me thats possible due to various conversion losses)

Depends on the BMS, in most cases a smartshunt is added for a more correct reading.

Typically a shunt is not needed with a bms controlled battery, select the battery bms as current monitor

The missing watts are a conversion and the multiplus its own needed power and also the vrm is “moment” view / calculation so never accurate

Thanks for clarifying. This is what I assumed indeed.
