Multiplus II 48/8000 - Random "OVERLOAD WARNING" messages

Also, to be clear on my issue. This 8KV MP II has never turned off due to an overload There are no devices with inrush currents connected to AC-1 or AC-2 except for a washer and a Fridge. Findings that i can confirm with at least 95% surety

  • No shutdown has every occurred

  • There are no high DC Ripple or low battery alarms (except 1 which happened due to a very low SOC and the BMS turning off)

  • The Warnings are just that “Overload Warnings”

  • Alarms only occur with Grid connected and ESS enabled (not once with grid disconnected)

  • The alarms are persistent, in most cases can easily exceed 10 in a single day

  • All alarms occur only during the day and usually with around 2KW or more PV power being generated (have had 1 alarm 22:00 at night)

  • My alarm events will last around 20 to 40 seconds (the same as an actual overload)

  • Hardly ever does the Overload LED light up (I have a camera focused and recording on the MP II and the VRM screen to monitor status and behaviour)

  • I Have managed to usefully recreate numerous alarms with a weed-eater / bushwhacker (800W). When power from “AC LOADS” and “Grid” power. In other words, the bushwhacker is not powered by the MP II from AC-1-Out or AC-2-Out. (Yes, the grid power is not very clean)

  • I am very confident that it something to do with the grid power, but the question remains why an overload warning?

The unit was replaced 3 days ago with a test 5KVA MP II (it is obviously premature, but not a single alarm yet). The same 5KVA was installed for around 2 weeks while the 8KVA MP II was in for testing in mid-2024, it also did not generate any alarms then. I have been in contact with the Operations Manager at my supplier who has turned out to be much more helpful. He has arranged a test unit 10KVA Quatro for testing as well.

This is what a typical alarm looks like. 75% of these alarms can be traced back to when the bushwhacker or other heavy equipment was powered from “AC LOADS” or “GRID” side.

I will report back with more info once both units have been tested at the same site. Thanks Guy for assisting
Just as a side note why is the word “L0an” not allowed on the forums?

That’s what I thought,

So I think the solution is to suppress those warnings as described here by adding a 60 second time delay before they are activated - Overload L1 warnings for Furnace Blower start remedies - #10 by pwfarnell

That word associated with borrow is commonly used by spammers, so it’s on a list to automatically block.
