Multiplus Compact 3000w wont charge batteries and run air conditioning in my trailer

Question: I have a 3600W generator and a 300ah lithium battery hooked to the 3000w Victron Compact. When I try to run generator to charge battery and also run air conditioning unit on trailer the gen runs for 15 to 20 mins and then air conditioning turns off. Generator stays running. Then approx 1 min later air conditioning tries to turn back ON but doesn’t turn on. Do I need to change a setting? Is the generator not big enough? I tried a 4600w generator too and had same problem.
