Multiplus alternate between inverting and non inverting

My Multiplus 12/3000/120 alternate between inverting (for 0,5 sec) and off (for 3 sec), continuously. The inverting light is NOT on.

More details regarding the alternating functionality on multiplus 12/3000/120. While is on inverting mode, the inverting green light is NOT on, but the inverter alternte between inverting( for 0,1 sec) and off( for approx 3 sec). No other lights blinks or are on. This behaviour is with or without being shore connected.

On the charger mode, the green charging light blinks every second, for 7-10seconds, then it switch load on for 0,1 second, together with the yellow float light for the same amount of time. Then the yellow bulk light lit for 0,1 second. And the process repeat.

I ordered a MK3 VE bus to usb. While I wait for it, I would really appreciate any ideas.

Thanks. Bogdan.

Do you mean something like that:

This is normal behavior. It depends on the current load, the current PV output, and the battery’s state of charge.

There is no solar panels involved. I am just testing the inverter. Is shore connected and battery connected. The battery is 98% SOC, 180Ah, load is between 3 and 300 W, with the same behaviour. I am sure that is not normal. Practically, the inverter intend to work but it turn off immediately. And it try to invert again after few seconds, and the process repeat.

Check your battery voltage at the inverter terminals whilst it is doing this…
Sounds like a high resistance in the battery supply line. trust you did connect the battery before the AC - however if the battery cable is intermittent that won’t help.

Since you don’t have a mk3 does that mean you have done zero configuration of the inverter?

DC voltage at the inverter input is stable, I am using 50mm/2 cables. I have another multiplus 12/2000 which works faultless on the same configuration by 2 years.

Indeed , there are no configurations. But it should work by default, based on the factory settings, right?

Entirely depends on your environment and assumes a default config on the inverter.
The only way to check it properly is to get it connected to a mk3.
Assuming it is a new device, DOA’s are rare, but not impossible.
