I have a multiplus 3000. 2x120. For whatever reason I am getting violate on both, but everything it running of L1. I am connected to an Onan 5500 genset that puts out power on each leg as you can see in the picture. If I run the generator it only use L1. Even though my A/C units are each on a separate line. With both running as in the picture they are both onL1. You can see L2 has voltage but nothing running on it.
If you look at the manual, you will see that the operation of the 2x120 will disconnect the input of L2 whenever it detects that l1 and l2 are the same leg input. It still shows input voltage but wont allow input.
Thanks Justin. Took me a while to figure it out. The problem is the generator puts out 2 legs at 120 in phase. The Multiplus assumes it’s like a dog bone connection and only feeds line one. The solution for me was to parallel the lines coming from the generator and put them both on l1. Since it’s in phase that means the voltage is the same but I now have 46 amps on L1. Much better. Thanks
