my multiplus does not charge my empty battery so does not go to bulk operation.
My battery(app)says battery is below 24 volt and multiplus says it’s more then 28 volt???
of course i can change the float and absorption to a higher value to start charging in bulk.
Anyone has seen this? how to solve?
I installed a smartshunt in my installation and this give me the right value. This is also the value i can see in my bms App.
To complete the information :
-the BMS is not connected to the Multiplus. Now i configured the GX device(a raspberry PI) to use the information of the smartshunt.
How much was the voltage drop over the cable? That could be the most logical reason why the battery could be undercharged. (This would be corrected by a shunt installation).
I’ve seen difference of 1,5V-2V higher read from the multiplus.
Now the battery is full at 100% I just checked the voltage from the multiplus and it’s almost the same as the shunt voltage.
So very strange situation. And it was not a voltage drop because the voltage read by the multiplus was higher than the voltage of the BMS and for that reason the multiplus did not charged in Bulk.
but ok with the shunt I can see the battery capacity in %.
To charge a potential or a higher voltage has to be created to get power to flow. When power does not need to flow there is no higher potential. That is part of the physics of electricity.
If there is a voltage drop over the cable there can be undercharging. A 4v difference as you decribed in your post is very unusual especially if there are no amps moving anywhere.
