Hello together,
My Multiplus 2 inverter in recently making some strange high frequency noises. For the master Multiplus inverter, with a single tap noise dissapeared, but for the slave Multiplus, won’t. I opened it up and noise seems to come from relayas or chopper, but i’m not sure. Actual load is ~ 120W, not charging batteries. Do you have any impression where sound is coming from? or similar cases?
You have there two frequencies overlaping.
The HF of inverter’s PWM over the final 50Hz result.
It’s either the main transformer or the filter in series with the main transformer’s primary winding.
I’ve checked once more and seems that noise is coming from white REL2 relay (looks like something loose inside). Once I’m pressing a bit on it, the high pitch noise is going off.
Look at transformer white and grey (maybe another colour in your inverter) wires from transformer to main board. I accidentally changed one with another and had same noises and not correct watts measure data in vrm
Did you get to the bottom of this?
I have 2 MPii 5k, in parallel, and one has just started doing this, but it comes and goes. Not at all load dependent from what I can tell.
Very similar sound though, a pretty harsh buzz.
Unfortunately not, is doing the same noise, time to time and it’s related to that relay. I’m now used to it … If I claim warranty, then the effort is to big to get it fixed.
Im an electronics engineer and to me it Sounds really like a relay thats switching on and off fast, i would recommend to contact your local victron dealer for support/warranty
Thats not transformer humming
