Multi RS Solar feeds battery from grid

the Multi RS Solar is running on ESS mode. During the winter time the RS regularly (approx 2 weeks) loads the battery to 100% from the grid with approx 450W.

Unnecessary for the LiFePO4 battery. Tried all kind of settings but without success. What can I do?

Which ESS mode?
Which is the minimum discharge SOC limit?
Which is the battery’s SOC when this slow charging is beginning?

This could happen if you set the minimum SOC above 95%.

ESS optimized without battery life. (No DESS)

It happens at all kinds of min SOC settings. Tried 10%, 30% 55%

A friend has also a RS and has the same issue.

OK, thanks for additional info.

But, again, based on the VRM - if you have it enabled - or if you remember it, at which SOC was the battery vs. the set SOC limit, when the charging from grid occurred?
For example… if the battery minimum discharge SOC limit was set at 55%, is it possible that the SOC was for more than 24 hours below 55% when this started?

It happend 1 days ago again. Min SOC 45%. During day time PV loaded battery from 45% to 68%. Around 19hr it started to load, from grid, with 480W until the absorption V was reached. Also in the other cases the SOC was not below the min set SOC. The instructions mention this behavior for acid batteries who have to get loaded once in 2 weeks/10 days but not necessary for LiFePO4 (set in VictronConnect correctly). Don’t understand this behavior.

Thanks for clarifying that.

Is the repeatability consistent from time interval point of view?
Meaning it happens exactly at “x” day interval, no matter the SOC?

I am trying to understand this, as I also have a Multi RS, but in my case it never happened.
But I also have the AC input disconnect function activated and the Multi RS is almost all the time disconnected from grid, getting connected only when SOC drops below the same percentage set at min discharge SOC limit.

Frequency is approx once in 2 weeks. Mine is connected to grid always (only AC-IN). Hope that more people that have this issue let it know so Victron can pick it up and ‘repair’. If it is a software bug more users should see it.

Yes i can also confirm i have same issue just in 3-Phase instalation.

Responded on the other thread…
Do you have the “Automatic equalization”, in Battery section, set to a different value than “Disabled”?
If yes, please disable it.
