MPPT without the option to create a VE.Smart Network

Hello,

I would like to synchronize all the MPPTs in my installation so that they operate in a coordinated way. These are the components:

  1. Cerbo GX MK2
  2. BlueSolar MPPT 150/45
  3. BlueSolar MPPT 100/30
  4. SmartSolar MPPT 100/30
  5. SmartShunt 500A

I have VE.Direct and VE.Direct-to-USB cables to connect the devices to the Cerbo GX, but first I tried to create a VE.Smart Network and ran into the issue that the BlueSolar MPPT does not have the VE.Smart Networking option available in the software.

What can I do if I don’t have the option to create the network?

On the Cerbo, the SmartSolar MPPT, and the SmartShunt, I do have the option to create the network, but on the two BlueSolar MPPTs I don’t have it available.

Is it necessary to create a network if I connect all the devices directly to the Cerbo using cables?

The main purpose of the Cerbo GX in my installation is to unify and coordinate all the MPPTs.

Thank you very much for your help.

VE.Smart Networking is working via Bluetooth and the BlueSolar doesn’t have Bluetooth.

If you have a Cerbo GX, you don’t want or need the SmartNetwork.

The SmartNetwork is for smaller systems without a Cerbo.

Everything is wired with VE.Direct cables.

Enabling DVCC on the Cerbo will coordinate the controllers so the maximum charge current is not exceeded.

Hello, thank you for your help.

Ok, so the Cerbo GX does control the charge current, great—thanks for the information!
