I have one 220 watt panel from Future Solutions that I want two parallel with two 200 watt Go Power panels in series. Please advise what values I enter into the MPPT Sizing Calculator
It’s just not apparent to me on what to enter with mixed panels.
Future Solutions 220 watt panel
Open Circuit Voltage (Voc): 44.2V
Maximum Voltage (Vmp): 35.75
Short Circuit Current (Isc): 6.28A
Maximum Circuit Current (Imp): 6.15 A
Go Power 200 Series E Overlander:
Rated DC Voltage 20.8
It’s not recommended to connect different panels together on one MPPT.
You should use one MPPT for the 220W panel and another one for the two 200W panels.
If you parallel them, and series the Go power should get 45.56V OC on the Go power and have about 36V mp in parallel.
Array Isc: 9.32A + 6.28A = 15.6A
Total Power: ~567W
Something like a 100/50 will be fine for 12v charging. They are not the best panels to combine, but if they are all you have, they will do something.
I bought my camper in July 2024 and asked the dealer to add two additional panels to the existing Future Solutions 220w. They selected the Go Power which they say is what they always do. Not knowing much I accepted their choice.
The dealer also used the stock Victron 100\30 MPPT saying that since the panels are flat on the roof they would be ok.
If I ever expand the system I think I should go to separate charge controllers.
