Mppt and smartshunt keeps disconnecting (RPi)

I have a raspberry pi as a gx device.

In remote console it keeps disconnecting the smartshunt and mppt. If i reset the rpi it works for a bit, and then it says disconnected.

How to solve this?

My advice to solve is easy: Purchase a Cerbo GX. Then plug in a genuine Victron cable and it will work.

I spend weeks trying to debug chinese Nanching Quinhing fake cables who neither emulate FTDI nor Prolifc correct.

Ahh, thanks. I heard good stories about cheap diy cables, but i guess it isn’t working for me.

You can use the r pi but buy the proper victron ve direct to usb victron cable.

I have disconnect problems occasionally, in my case it is the USB plugs at the RPi. If i remove and reinsert a couple of times it will run for months without problem. These can be genuine Victron or cheap alternatives it doesn’t matter, so is it the USB sockets on the RPi, who knows.

I now have genuine victron usb connectors and my problem is solved.
