Missing Pylontech in Device List

Dear community

I’m frustrated after several hours of searching the problem and I’ve no solution :-/

I’m setting up a new ess system with 4x pylontech us5000 and a cerbo gx mk2. But the cerbo gx mk2 not list the pylontech battery.

  • I connected the master pylontech battery with a victron type a cable from a/can-port to the victron cerbo gx mk2 (ve.can 1)
  • I have terminated the other empty ve.can 1 with the blue victron ve.can terminator
  • the dip switch of the master pylontech ist 1 is on and 2, 3 and 4 is off
  • I reduced the setup also to only 1 battery - but it makes no difference. the cerbo gx mk2 does not list the pylontech battery
  • I use the os version 3.6 on cerbo gx mk2

I see in the network settings for “VE.can port 1” some “Err passive: 5” und some “Bus warn: 5” and under “TX” “dropped: 4” and "errors: 10)

What I do wrong?

Have you configured the canbus speed to 500kbit/s?

Also note, you did not have to change the dip switch settings.

hi ejrossouw

  • all dip switches (1-4) for the master should be off? (this makes no difference)

  • where can I change to 500kbit? in the services settings for “VE.Can port 1” I have only the following profiles:

  1. “VE.Can & Lynx Ion BMS (250kbit/s)”,
  2. “VE.Can & Can-bus BMS (250kbits/s)”,
  3. “Can-Bus BMS LV (500kbit/s)”,
  4. “Oceanvolt (250kbit/s)”, "RV-C (250kbit/s)

I have the Victron Cerbo Gx MK2 with OS Version 3.6. Where could I find the setting to change to 500kbit?

You should read the manual of the Pylontech (again).
The DIP switches are needed for larger systems with a LV-Hub.
