Hello Victron Community,
I have an off-grid energy system based around two parallel Victron Quattro 48/10000/140-2x100 units. I’m looking for advice on the best way to monitor a new synchronous AC-coupled hydro generator in the Cerbo GX and in VRM. It will be connected to the AC Output (like my PV Inverters) and have an ET112 energy meter ready to measure its output.
What’s the best way to configure the ET112 meter in Cerbo GX settings for the hydro generator? I’d like its generation and the rest of my AC loads to be shown separately, like the “PV inverter” setting does.
However, I don’t think configuring it as a “PV inverter” is ideal, as it would affect solar predictions in VRM (since hydro doesn’t correlate with sun). Configuring as a “Generator” isn’t possible since it’s connected to AC Out, not AC In.
Is the least bad option to set it as “AC load” just so it’s separated in the Cerbo and VRM, and just have it be a negative power output? Or will VRM somehow work it out if I have a “PV inverter” which generates 24/7…?
Any recommendations from those monitoring non-PV AC energy sources on the AC Output?
Thanks in advance!
Rob
