Hi all, trying to wrap my head around LoM.
So the way i’ve understood it is, say the power company needs to some work in my street, they’ll cut off the power outside my house, none of my breakers will trip of course. The Multiplus (when configured with the right grid code) will detect LoM and not feed in any power to prevent our power company friends getting zapped when they’re working.
That scenario is different from a power outage where we’d want the UPS function to kick in and for the Multiplus to pick up the running loads.
What is exactly allowing the Multiplus to make the distinction between the two scenarios above?
How it works depends on how the system is programmed. They are both a form of rejection and anti islanding.
The end result is the same; the back feed relays open so that no stray voltage is present by being backfed on the input of the inverter. The system establishes its own sine wave and voltage.
You will notice a click if you cut off supply on a ups system and on an ESS system. That is the sound of the relay.
