Load Output configuration query on MPTT Solar Controller

Hi, some advice please 🙂 I have a 100/30 Solar controller and want to use the load output terminals to charge a Bluetti Power Bank when the Caravan battery (LifePo) is fully charged. I’m assuming that I need to select a custom profile so that when the caravan battery voltage starts to fall the load output is dropped. What would you suggest I set the Vmax and Vmin to or is there a standard profile in the settings that I can use. Cheers and Many Thanks 🙂

These are the defaults.

If you want finer control. Use a bmv that has percentage and soc control.

The user defined ones allow customization voltage control also mentioned in the manual.

Summary

User defined algorithm 1:

OFF when Vbatt < Vlow.

ON when Vbatt > Vhigh.

User defined algorithm 2:

OFF when Vbatt < Vlow or Vbatt > Vhigh.

ON when Vbatt is between Vlow and Vhigh

Hi Thanks for the prompt response and the information. I’ve seen those settings in the manual I guess what I was trying to say was if I needed to use a User Defined algorithm then what would I ideally set the voltages at for the algorithm for a Lithium battery to make sure it charges ok and doesn’t get damaged

Properly charged is often a heated topic with lithiums.

The two algorithms give you 2 choices

  1. Waits for the main battery to be pretty much in absorption or low current needs and balancing and then applies the load.
  2. Give the option to bulk charge when the main battery is bulk charging and then leaving the solar to finish the main battery.

So whichever one suits you and how you use the system as a whole would apply.
So not something anyone else can answer definitively for you.

Thats very useful though - Thank you
