Limit Dynamic ESS discharge power to always exclude EV charging

I am wondering if it’s possible to always exclude the EV charger (wallbox) from the battery. So that the wallbox always charges from the grid and not the ESS? I can’t just change the Grid Setpoint because as far as I know that will also mess the Dynamic ESS predictions/control!

We can’t put the EV charger on the AC In side because we still want the option to be able to charge the car when in backup power (besides that it also isn’t possible electrotechnical). So if there ever is some reason for which we need a fully charged car, we simply can flip a switch (in/with Victron/Node-RED/Loxone) which enables the charger again.

There is a whole smart home system (Loxone) besides Victron. Loxone uses Modbus to only follow Victron (not control at the moment because we use the DESS) and is in control of the Loxone Wallbox. Is it possible to use Modbus (or another protocol/Node-RED) to exclude the EV charger? As example: to (temporarily) limit the Dynamic ESS/Victron discharge power or maybe with another solution. If not, would above situation be possible with a Victron EV charger?

You can rewire the charger so not seen as a load

You can also put an energy meter on the EV circuit and control the ESS state dependent on the value of the EV circuit

Thanks for the reply!
What do you mean with “rewire the charger so not seen as a load”? Did you mean put it on the AC In side? Because as described above that sadly isn’t the solution…

As for the other point: how would we go about this? Because if we control the ESS state won’t that mess up the Dynamic ESS? We still want to be using the Dynamic ESS but only temporarily limit the battery discharge power to self consumption (so what ever the Dynamic ESS is doing this won’t change it). Is that possible or is there an easier/better way to make this possible?
