Running 2 by 120 multiplus’s, Normally at a 50 amp connection I use 180* split phase. At this RV park, my multiplus is rejecting 1 input leg. I measured L1 to L2 and have 214 volts. Is it correct that this is a 3 phase Wye ? Can I switch to 3 phase input and return to normal operation?
214V phase to phase on its own doesn’t indicate if it’s a 240V system with bad voltage drop or 208V three phase wye with slightly high voltage. If you have VE.Bus system configurator, you can disable “switch as group” and set the L2 phase to floating with return. We have three phase 120/208V in our shop and we usually send out any 50A RV with this configuration. You shouldn’t have an Autotransformer installed in an RV (it’s a Code violation), but if you do then this won’t work. The AT will complain mightily about the 120° phase rotation. If you have an AT, then you just have to live with 120V input when connected to a two-phase 120° power post.
I hope this helps.
Thanks for the reply Ed! This was at a Loves RV travel park, I had this happen at a different Loves RV park last year. I don’t have a Autotransformer. I’ll try your settings next time I’m at one of their parks.
Ah, yes. Loves most likely has three phase power. Good luck!
