Hi, community. Is there any device which can read the solar excess after the batteries are full and redirect it to some extra load? I am talking about a fully offgrid system, so Iboost or my energy eddy can not be considered, as there is no export. Is there any programable wattmeter switch or anything similar? Thanks!!!
Hi Bogdan. With a NodeRED flow to determine the desired setpoint (for example live charge power reading from solar), the device that I made can do that by receiving it via MQTT, and then for example drive a boiler or (pool) heater. The Cerbo already has an MQTT server build in which you can enable, so its not complicated.
Btw: I would recommend that it already gets triggered when the battery is below full (e.g. 80-90%), since it is not helping your battery lifetime to keep it at 100% all the time (if you make regular cycles that properly use and refill the battery then its irrelevant).
