So I’m trying to eliminate having to run my generator or Shore power to use the hot water heater and laundry machine.
The previous owner installed a breaker that connects the lower panel( 230v outlets microwave) with the upper panel (laundry machine hot water heater)
But I would need to turn the breaker on/off every time I turn on/off generator or connect to shore power.
What I’m trying to get at is just be able to have everything working all the time though my lithium. And just use my rotary switch
when I’m either on genset or shore power.
I have a Quattro 5k 230v and 1320ah lithium.
Can someone explain how the connection would be
Can someone help me out with this one
Is your system 120v split phase and 230v combo or 230v all of it? There is quite a mix of systems on here so maybe no one answered because there isn’t enough information.
If it is 230v you could connect the second panel to ac2 out of the quattro for both loads to be connected all the time (program ac2 out to be on when no shore or generator)
Panel 1 acout1
Panels 2 ac out 2
Then you just need to adjust the ac input current limit so your generator isn’t overloaded
Thank you this is exactly what I was looking for.
Do I program it through the cerbo or through configuration? Also I noticed that the Quattro only turns on when connected to shore power after it’s in I can switch shore power off and it’ll stay on. My multiplus always stayed on.
You can program over the vrm and ve configure
Or with the mk3 locally
You cant program it on the Cerbo.
You can through vrm with a laptop.
Instructions here.
I know how to configure it but not sure how to do the settings for AC2 out to be on when no shore power
Can you explain that part?
It is an assistant (programmable relay) done with ve configure.
Ok I’ve got it now. Thanks
Still can’t figure out why the inverter has to be connected to shore power before it’ll turn on?
It is a great way to have larger loads on a system have solar contribute to them, while allowing some kind of control over whether you should use them while inverterting and using battery power. (So optional loads)
If it is a feature that you don’t need you can always connect the entire panel to AC1. Or just have ac 2 always on.
So question now that I have the assistance ignoring shore power. İs it possible to still use pass Tru when connected to shore power?
Pass through to the ac2?
Or system pass through to all loads?
Pass through to all loads
You will be able to do that. Just be sure when you program AC2 to include being on when ac is connected
