Integrate Daikin altherma 3 into Victron ESS

Hello

I have a 3 phase Victron Dynamically steered ESS Multiplus II 3 kVA x 3 with 15 kWh battery.
I recently had a Daikin Altherma 3 HT installed (with hot water tank).
I was thinking of buying a Daikin HomeHub, adding the capacity for Victron to set the hot water tank temperatury based on solar overproduction.

Questions:

  1. Would this be worth the cost/effort?
  2. Or should I just let DESS based on forecasts do its job and use the static settings on the heat pump?
  3. If yes to Q1 and no to Q2: does anybody have experience sending commands over Modbus to Daikin HomeHub? I think I can get an installer to install the device, but the communication between victron ESS and Daikin heatpump I will have to take care of myself.

Thank you for your insights.

The altherma should have smart grid contacts, which you can maybe drive from the cerbo.

Using these contacts you can have the heat pup either

  • forced off
  • forced on
  • recommended on
  • normal operation.

Check the installer manual for details.

Thank you. I will try to find more information about these smart grid contacts.

I have Viessmann HP and made control using onboard contactors.

I think Daikin has something similar
