Ideas for new features to fix my problems with DESS

Hi, after using my dynamic ess system for some months I got some feature requests.

  1. Adding an extra SOC low value.
Issue: my battery is too small for my solar system and clips at empty and fully charged. This causes the problem that DESS uses minimum SOC as target, but underestimating my usage. This results in the morning in my ESS blocking discharge until sun kicks in. This is often at high prices.
Current workaround: set SOC low at for example 10%, and in the morning back to 5% before using power.
This may be expanded to a ‘preferable soc window’ where boundaries are a goal, but not the absolute max. This allows estimations to have some room for error instead of having to be exactly correct.
  2. Stop/pause DESS for one day a week.
Issue: I’m Christian, and on Sunday we don’t work. It’s against my principles to earn money on Sunday by trading energy. I want the system to prepare for Sunday by discharging the battery to allow for solar charging, or to charge the battery back up during winter to allow a day without grid usage.
Currently workaround: I have a relay switching off the grid on Sunday, forcing me off grid. But DESS does not take that into account. Right now this is wasting some solar energy, but in winter time this may start causing issues.
I can imagine this feature will be much appreciated by the Christian community, and even Jews or more religions. For that purpose the pause day should be configurable. For the Sabbath it’s a bit more complicated though as it starts at Friday sundown and stops at Saturday sundown.
I can even see use cases for people living in an RV and using it off grid for one day a week or more.

I can imagine you have work enough to do, but it would be nice if at least issue 1. could be addressed.
