How to tune Skylla IP65 12/70 for Lithium 14.6 V abs?

Hi everyone,

I have 2 X 280 Ah LiFePo non Victron batteries that need to be charged at 14.6V for absorption. No other information :upside_down_face:. Skylla algo #7 doesn’t allow me to change absorption V to 14.6 because no “expert mode” through smart Bluetooth, etc,…. Algo #8 doesn’t seem to be suitable for LiFePo : Maximum Float Time cannot be disabled (there are no float on LiFePo right?); storage mode ON or OFF ? how do I set vigil (watch) time ? etc,…

I’ve been through settings for hours but the result is not satisfying, confusing : I don’t want 14.6 V continuously, rather 13.5 V to spare battery life over time. But I need a periodical boost at 14.6 not 14.2. Batteries not charging fast enough if I’m in distant harbor just for a few hours on the grid,…

Help needed please, has anyone had the same issue ? Could you let me know your settings ?

François

PS. Victron is really cool for providing tuning possibilities for non Victron solar panel with their Excel calculator. I like this way of standing up as a company and then I feel happy to pay because they play the game, etc,…why not with non-Victron batteries ?

Not generally an issue if you set float voltage to 0.1 to 0.2V below Abs voltage. Float does not need “turning off” to charge lithium batteries.

Charge rate will not be affected much by a change from 14.2 to 14.6V - bulk charge is only dependent on charge current rating. IF you are getting a long period of current dropping slowly at the end of bulk (absorption phase) then have a look at the connection wire size for voltage drop, or use remote volt sensing.
