How to distinguish between 120-230V and 230V phoenix chargers

Hi community,

I am thinking of buying a phoenix smartcharger 12/50 and saw on the product page that there are two variants:

  • one for 120-240V
  • one for 230V

And I saw on the VE SmartNetworking compatibility page that the former will be able to synchronize the charging via bluetooth, while the latter does not.

As I would like to keep my options for an additional charger open, I would prefer to buy the 120-230V variant.

But I wonder, are there any other differences between the versions (apart from the obvious voltage one of course  )? And how can I recognize one when buying online?

Last, but not least, are the differences worth the worry?

Cheers,

Snafu

You can find the product code in the pricelist https://www.victronenergy.com/media/pricelist/Pricelist_Victron__EUR_C_2024-Q4_web.pdf
for the one you are interested in and make sure that is what you order. If you will only ever have access to a 230V supply there is a small cost incentive to go 230V.
