I don’t know about your DIP switches and that particular battery but in my case, the positions mentioned in Victron and my battery manuals didn’t work. Through experimentally changing the DIP switches, I landed on a position that works. I think I had to use the position of battery 2 though I had only one battery but I don’t remember for sure as it was a long time ago. Victron wouldn’t read my battery otherwise.
What software fix? 
I have no idea about the dipswitches, i have seen it in the manual, but as fidere wrote, try different adresses, 0,1,2
