I plan to parallel nine Orion-Tr 48/24-16(380W) Isolated Converters to feed a total load of 120A. Could any potential issues occur, or will uneven current sharing arise among these parallel units? I will tell the manufacturer to supply all converters from the same production batch when placing the order.
Here’s a link to the data sheet. Seems to say pretty clearly unlimited units can be connected in parallel. By the way. I just copied and pasted your question into Grok and got a link to the datasheet. It took me like 15 seconds. ![]()
As far as other concerns, there are smarter people than me on this forum that will hopefully see your post.
Thank you very much for your assistance. I’ve heard some say a maximum of 3 units can be operated in parallel, while the official website states unlimited parallel operation is supported. I’m confused about which is correct, so I hope professionals can offer clarification.
I think the limitations will be your input source. I can’t find anything official in the Orion manual but the recommendation by other professionals seems to be you are limited to 50% of your input. So if your source is rated to put out 200 amps, for example, you should limit the converters to a total of no more than 100 amps. I have seen others I trust on this site and other places recommend this.
