Help with setting for the frog star and Victron set up

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone will be able to help me. I have installed the following equipment in to my camper van conversion.

Victron 345W Monocrystalline Solar kit with SmartSolar 100/30 MPPT, a Lithium Leisure Battery - Fogstar Drift 12v 280Ah, going via a Victron Energy MultiPlus 12v Inverter Charger 12/1600/70-16 VE -Bus.

Could someone tell me what the MPPT and multiplus are to be compatible with the Frogstar battery? Problem is, the battery will discharge to 12% and only charge to 54% and then stop charging?

I have looked everywhere for the what the setting should be any help will be appreciated.

You very likely need to set the charge parameters according to the batteries datasheet, on both the MPPT and Multiplus. Going to be around 14.2V absorption and 13.5V float. Do you use a Cerbo or other GX device?

Hi Chirigu,

Thanks for the advice. I set absorption to 14.5V and 13.5V for the float. I don’t use a Cerbo or other GX device.

14.5V absorption voltage is too high – Fogstar say this:

  1. Absorption Voltage: 14.2V - 14.4V.
  2. Absorption Time: A general guideline is half an hour per 100Ah of LiFePO4 battery capacity.
  3. Victron Specific Setting: For Victron equipment, set the absorption voltage to 14.2V.
