Help Needed – Victron Energy MultiPlus Compact 12V 1600/70 Issue

Hello everyone,

I have a Victron Energy MultiPlus Compact 12V 1600/70 installed on my boat, powered by six original AGM 110Ah batteries.

Recently, the inverter has started showing a constant warning light.

I have checked all the connections – everything is fine. I also tested the batteries and they are in perfect condition.

When no devices are connected, the inverter works normally. However, as soon as I connect any additional load – even just an empty socket without a device plugged in – it trips again, the warning light stays on, and the inverter stops working completely.

This issue began right after I installed a new watermaker. The watermaker is now completely disconnected, but the inverter problem persists.

Has anyone experienced this before? What could be the cause?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Dan

have you ever overloaded the inverter? even inadvertently for a short period of time?

This may be due to a problem in the power switching block. Best to totally remove the inverter and bench test if possible.

see: Pre-RMA Bench Test Instructions

for further testing details.

Thw water maker is on 12V , he can still work and all rest of 12v Systems

So not sure why

Problems like this can also arise from exposure to salt air, so best to extract the unit, bench test and send for repair.
