Grid power turns on in off grid mode

I only use grid power at night during cheap rate to charge my batteries. The grid is totally disconnected from my multiplus ii by an external contactor which only closes after midnight to use the MultiPlus-II as a charger. But I do notice that during the day time that my vrm is showing grid power going into my mp2, but where is the power of 10kw going? See my attached screen shot, it’s odd, please can anyone tell me what’s going on here. The grid stayed on for a short period but still consumed 0.2kwh during that period before going off.

Perhaps something is connected or configured incorrectly?
What is connected where in your setup?
Your network meter seems to be adding up all the currents…
What are you using as a network meter? A meter or the Multi itself?
Please show us a bit of your configuration.
If you currently have ‘NO GRID’, it should also be displayed as ‘Not connected’.

How do you control the ‘contactor’? Via the multi-relay or do you use the time-dependent charging function of the multi itself?

Why dont you just use scheduled charging, the way you do it know will put so much wear on the multiplus relays…

This weekend I’ll check all the settings again, thats when I’ll have time to work on it.

It’s about 8 months ago since I set up all the parameters and its been working perfectly throughout the summer, so I basically forgot all the settings, ill check everything and make notes this time.

As for schedule charging on my mp2, does that mean I must set the system to “ignore ac in” also how does the external contactor supplying the mp2 at scheduled times wear the relays in the mp2?

Are you using ESS? I think scheduled charging works with ESS only.

You can use an external contactor. Why don’t you just switch off the grid when you don’t need it to make sure there’s no unintended use of the grid?

As an alternative, you could use virtual switch or multi or GX generator assistants to ignore AC. Note that you can’t run both assistants and virtual switch.

Im not using ess as im technically not allowed to connect my inverter to the grid because my dno said no unless I install a 3ph supply. So all through the summer since March I used my system off grid with the main grid switch in the off position, it’s been working off grid flawlessly, it was in September when we had several dark dull days and my soc was running down to 30%, I decided to turn back on the grid switch, and at midnight the batteries were charged by cheap rate upto 50% soc for 3 nights in a row, then the weather brightened up and there’s been plenty of solar ever since, but I left the grid switch on because we’re heading into winter months now. It was yesterday I noticed that 10kw draw from the grid, even though the loads were far less and the batteries were charging from solar, so I can’t figure out where the 10kw was being fed to.
