Generator Start/Stop periodic run does not seem to work anymore?

I am running Version 3.51 and have an issue within Generator Start/Stop in that periodic run does not seem to work anymore. I currently at sea in my vessel and it has been working previously but stopped a couple of days ago, Manual Start works fine, so there does not seem to be a physical issue, but I use periodic run every night to charge batteries and shut the he set off when batteries are full.

Is anyone else having this issue?

I cannot reproduce this issue on Venus OS 3.51. I tested the periodic run with and without the “Run until battery full” setting enabled.
Can you check the following:

  • Is there a battery service present and is it selected as battery monitor? (Settings → system setup → Battery monitor)? If this is not there and the “Run until battery charged condition is set”, then the periodic run condition will not start the generator.
  • Are the start time and date set correctly?

Let me know if you keep having problems. I can also take a look at your system.

Hi Rein,

Thank you for following this up, I can confirm that there is a battery service selected (via the VenusGX CAN Bus) and there is an alternative of the Quattro device.

I have attempted to use both battery monitors and it does not resolve the issue and the Period Run does not initiate.

The start date is selected as daily, and I have varied the start time to suit testing. This should all be correct. I have used this for many years successfully and as stated was working fine on the new UI so I don’t quite understand why it is now different.

As previously advised, manual start with a timer selected works perfectly.

Hello,
I have had once the periodic run not working with 3.50, But in my case Solved with 3.51.
Now my periodic is just running every 10 days.
