I’m aware that Victron still has some work to do with the DESS. I’m always watching changes and tests in the DESS with great interest (greetings to Barbara). I also consider the implementation of the “dognose hack” a major step forward. However, I would like to explicitly point out two other issues. One is variable grid costs, which are slowly becoming a reality in Germany but are already a reality in some European countries. I’m not a programmer, but I find it a little puzzling why it’s taking a relatively long time to add a time-varying factor to the pricing formula(s). I know that many users are waiting for this. The second problem affects more the German market and concerns the basic remote-controlled dimming of the MP2. I’m aware that a complete switch-off option already exists, but I don’t think this is a practical solution. I know of several potential future customers who regularly ask me whether Victron has found a solution. Both problems only affect me marginally, but I’m following some lively discussions about these issues. Thank you.

Support for the German §14a EnWG requirement has already been implemented and released early March. See the announcement in Victron professional for more info.
That variable grid costs is something that somehow got lost in the development track and you are right that it isn’t too hard to add. So putting that back on the todo list. Thanks for the reminder.

Thanks for the reply. The issue with the variable network charges will take a few months for me personally, but I know that some users from Denmark and Belgium have been waiting for it for a while. I think it would be very helpful if you found a solution soon. Thanks.
To-do lists are terrible, I know. They have a habit of growing
